Technical Details
Anker has introduced a new robotic lawn mower, the eufy C15, which is currently the company's most affordable model. Compared to the larger E15 and E18 models, the new C15 is designed for small gardens up to 500 square meters. Instead of using perimeter wires or RTK antennas like many competing robotic lawn mowers, the C15 relies entirely on eufy's TrueVision camera-based system for navigation and mapping.
Background and Context
The front-facing camera system automatically detects obstacles, determines their location, and plans a route. This means the lawn mower can avoid objects like pets, toys, garden furniture, and even small animals like hedgehogs while moving around the garden. The initial mapping process may take some time depending on the garden layout, but overall, the setup looks much simpler than traditional robotic lawn mowers.
Industry Impact
The lawn mower itself features a 180mm cutting disc with adjustable cutting height from 20mm to 60mm. It can also handle slopes with a gradient of up to 32%, which should be sufficient for most small gardens. The lawn mower has officially gone on sale after a recent pre-order phase. Its price starts at 900 euros, and as part of a limited-time offer, eufy is currently including a free additional garage. This bundle usually costs 1000 euros.
