AvtoVAZ has finally stopped producing old versions of Lada Niva Travel with a classic 1.7-liter (Zhiguli) engine with a power of 83 horsepower. The information about the completion of the assembly of such cars was confirmed by the press service of the concern.
Context and Background
The Telegram channel «Avtopotok» clarified that the 2026 Niva Travel with this engine is no longer in production and was not produced — the last cars with this unit were produced last year. Now all Niva Travel are equipped with only a new 1.8-liter 90-horsepower engine.
Industry Impact
In the price list, opposite the 83-horsepower configurations, there is already a note «Not produced». At the same time, dealers still have cars with the old engine: according to classifieds, as of May 31, several hundred such SUVs are still on sale, but there are noticeably more cars with the new engine.
