Maextro has opened pre-orders for the new flagship version of the S800 Grand Design sedan in China. Orders are already being accepted, and the brand is quoting a preliminary price range of 1.6 to 2 million yuan. A deposit of 40,000 yuan is required to book the vehicle, which will then be deducted from the final price of 60,000 yuan. The premiere of the production version is expected in late June.
Background and Context
The new modification features a unique body and interior design. For the Grand Design, a two-tone color scheme has been prepared, including combinations such as blue and silver, as well as signature golden accents on emblems, badges, and trim. The car has received exclusive 21-inch wheels. The sedan's dimensions are 5480 × 2000 × 1542 mm with a wheelbase of 3370 mm.
Industry Impact
The Grand Design's interior is strictly four-seat, with natural leather, wood, crystal, and golden decorative elements used in the design. The Maextro S800 Grand Design is built on the new Touring Dragon platform and is offered in two variants - a sequential hybrid and an electric vehicle. The hybrid modification is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine-generator with a power output of 172 horsepower and three electric motors with a total power output of 864 horsepower, while the electric version has two engines with a power output of 530 horsepower. The vehicle comes with an advanced driver assistance system called Qianqun ADS 5.0.
