Starbase's History and Development
The small town of Boca Chica in Texas officially became the city of Starbase one year ago. On May 30, residents and employees of the spaceport-city Starbase celebrated the first anniversary with live concerts and picnics.
Technical Details and Infrastructure
Over the past year, Starbase has undergone significant changes. The city and spaceport infrastructure are being developed to conduct test flights of Starship, the most powerful spacecraft in history. Authorities and SpaceX emphasize the importance of preserving local beaches and ecosystems, prioritizing nature.
Goals and Benefits of City Status
SpaceX aims to develop Starbase as a hub for space technology. The main goal of obtaining city status is to independently manage utilities such as water supply, electricity supply, and roads without needing approval from Cameron County. This also simplifies the process of closing local roads and beaches during rocket launches, which previously caused difficulties due to coordination with authorities. Additionally, Starbase will be able to develop residential and social infrastructure for employees, which is important for attracting new specialists.
